Built on the outskirts of Florence only a few minutes away from Hotel Orto dei Medici one can find the monumental complex of the Fortezza da Basso.

Uffizi Palace
The Uffizi Palace is a major point of interest in Florence and we recommend it highly, when suggesting places to see, to our guests at Hotel Orto dei Medici.

Ponte Vecchio
We recommend that our guests at Hotel Orto dei Medici visit the picture postcard bridge of Ponte Vecchio.
The oldest bridge in the city, originally built in wood on piers of stone by the Etruscans, it crosses the Arno River at its widest point.

Medici Chapels
The Medici family wanted to build the Medici Chapels in the basilica of San Lorenzo, considered their private church as a mortuary in which to bury the most illustrious members of the family.

Palazzo Vecchio
Originally called Palazzo della Signoria, getting its name form the Signoria or Lords of Florence, this impressive town hall, now called Palazzo Vecchio overlooks the Piazza della Signoria, next to the Loggia dei Lanzi.

Piazza della Signoria
Piazza della Signoria is the lovely piazza in historical Florence hosting Palazzo Vecchio, once called Palazzo della Signoria. This remarkable open-air museum evokes centuries of strength and greatness.

Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella in Florence is situated near the main train station, of the same name, in the historical center of Florence. Chronologically speaking, it is the oldest church in Florence and its first great basilica.

Pitti Palace
The origins of the original Pitti Palace date back to 1458 when it was the residence of Luca Pitti, a well-known Florentine banker and friend of Cosimo de'Medici.
